Membership Benefits

Membership in NGAOM will be a privilege. A condition of membership will be to agree and uphold the Guild Code of Ethics and By-laws. With your support we will work unceasingly to bring about the full integration of Oriental Medicine into the American healthcare system. We will advocate for legislation that will give our practitioners primary care status on a state by state basis. Our arguments will be evidence, proof and reproducibility.

Please join us in improving the health of our country. Complete the enclosed Application for Membership, provide the required documentation, read and sign the Code of Ethics and send it along with your payment today.

Membership Categories
The NGAOM is made up of individuals only; it has no corporate or institutional memberships. The Guild offers the following categories of membership:

Full Membership
This membership category is available to practitioner who have graduated from a college of Oriental medicine; have successfully completed a training program; are fully licensed to practice acupuncture and Oriental medicine in the state in which they practice. All newly elected members are required to participate in a membership induction ceremony at the Annual Clinical Assembly within three years following election to membership. CAOMA members pay reduced dues the first year of membership, after which dual members pay adjusted dual member dues. Members who are serving in the U.S. military or U.S. public health service pay reduced dues for the duration of their enlistment.

Core Membership
This membership is open to applicants who qualify for full membership and will make a commitment to serve the Guild on a volunteer basis in the not limited to the areas of committee assignments, advisory boards, political correspondence event coordinators and charitable work.

Student Membership
This category of membership is available to students who are enrolled in a college of oriental medicine. Students pay a one-time membership fee upon application.

Membership Categories Membership Dues
New Full Member $325.00 per year.
Core Member $325.00 per year.
Current CAOMA Member $200.00 for the first year of membership for new members who are also CAOMA members.
New Full Member
First Year licensee
$200.00, for non CAOMA members who have been newly licensed in the past year.

Active U.S. Military/
Public Health Service

$200.00 per year during the enlistment period in the U.S. Military or Public Health Service.
Student Membership $125.00 one time payment for the duration of Oriental medical studies prior to licensure.

Application Requirements
Include these documents with your Application of Membership

  • Letters of recommendation from two or more licensed primary providers who can attest to the applicant's qualifications, professional accomplishments, and ethics.
  • A copy of the DCA license verification sheet or equivalent California Licensee’s reference the Acupuncture Board web site under License verification.
  • A copy of your Oriental medical school diploma(s).
  • Copies of all specialty training certificates.
  • A copy of your current malpractice insurance declarations page.
  • A copy of your current curriculum vitae.
  • CAOMA members; include proof of current CAOMA membership.

How to Join the NGAOM
To apply for membership in the NGAOM just mail:

  • The documents to support your Application Requirements (above)
  • A completed Application of Membership
  • Indicate the Membership Category you are applying for
  • Include a check for Membership Dues
